About

Namita  co‑manages the Women’s Rights Programme at the Association for Progressive Communications (APC), directing multi‑country research, policy advocacy, and community‑building on technology and feminism, internet governance, and digital rights from a Global‑South perspective. As a writer and researcher she focuses on the political and feminist analysis of technology, internet governance, privacy and her work includes a mapping of research within the field of gender and digital technology and on what automated content moderation does to speech. She has worked as an editor for GenderIT.org, shaping it into a platform that houses feminist, queer and Global South analysis on the internet.

Her work blends artistic and curatorial practice alongside legal and political analysis. She has co-founded the Bangalore Queer Film Festival, the open-access video archive pad.ma, and has programmed exhibitions on occupation and the nation State. She is currently part of founding and creating a space for radical practices around film and image-making.
