About
Wanda Muñoz is an international consultant with more than twenty years’ experience in human rights, gender equality, the rights of persons with disabilities and humanitarian affairs. Wanda has worked for international NGOs, inter-governmental and UN organizations in several countries. She became involved in artificial intelligence in 2017, initially through an analysis of its impact in situations of conflict, and later through a focus on human rights and AI. She was an independent expert at GPAI, and is a member of the Feminist AI Research Network and UNESCO’s Women for Ethical AI. She co-authored UNESCO’s policy on AI and disability. Her work has been published by UNESCO, UNFPA, MILA, Oxford University Press, the ICRC, and the National University of Colombia, among others. In 2020, Wanda was recognized by the Nobel Women’s Initiative as a ‘peacebuilder working to end gender violence and to promote peace, justice, and equality’.
