About

Tina M. Park, Ph.D. is a sociologist examining the impact of AI systems and products on socially marginalized communities, including workers and communities of color. Most recently, Tina was the Head of Inclusive Research & Design at the Partnership on AI, where she researched and developed resources for AI practitioners to ethically engage with the public. She currently works as an independent researcher with the Distributed AI Research Institute and the Center for Democracy & Technology. She is also consulting with REAL ML on community engagement strategies. Her sociological scholarship focuses on the quantification of human experiences for digital platforms and the relationship of digital technology and racial colonial capitalism. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), a Master’s in Urban Planning from New York University, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Brown University. Tina also serves on the regional board of directors for Coro California.
