About
I am a clinical psychologist and former Facebook content moderator with over four years of experience in digital content moderation. I am a passionate advocate for mental health care, fair working conditions, and the professionalization of African data and technology work. My work focuses on the intersection of mental health and digital labor, particularly addressing the psychological toll of content moderation and the need for ethical AI development.
I am also the Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the African Content Moderator Union – Nigeria Chapter and the Mental Health/Welfare Lead of the African Content Moderators Union – Kenya Chapter. Additionally, I am the Founder of the Digital Rights and Mental Health Initiative, where I champion the mental health rights and well-being of tech and data workers.
I contribute to research on systemic changes in digital labor, psychological assessment, and advocacy for content moderators, providing crisis intervention and therapy for individuals affected by digital work-related trauma.
My commitment to mental health and labor rights has earned me international recognition, including being named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in AI (2024) and a BBC News 100 Women honoree (2024).
Through research, advocacy, and mental health interventions, I continue to empower digital workers, pushing for ethical AI and sustainable labor conditions in the global tech industry.
