About
Ellery Roberts Biddle is the Editorial Director of Ranking Digital Rights, where she works to build strong, compelling narratives about how technology companies’ policies affect human rights. Previously, she was Advocacy Director at Global Voices, where she worked with writers, activists, and technologists from around the world, telling stories at the intersection of human rights and technology. In 2017, she led a cross-regional field study of the human rights implications of Facebook’s Free Basics app, the only one of its kind. She has written for The New York Times, The Guardian, Slate, Quartz, and Americas Quarterly.
