I am a policy analyst at the Center for Democracy & Technology where I work to promote and advance human rights online. My colleague Gabriel Nicholas and I presented an early version of our paper ‘Lost in Translation’ which looked into the claims big online services were making about their automated multilingual content analysis systems and highlighted key opportunities and limits of these tools and how they impacted users’ rights to privacy and free expression.
